Description: The Heron Spike Misericordia is Tom Sterling's masterpiece to date. The "heron skull" handle was carved by Tom Sterling from moose antler. Tom's experience as a netsuke artist clearly shines through in this exciting piece. The diamond cross section blade is the "heron's beak". Textured copper furniture is used throughout. The black walnut display stand is ornamented with a carved and textured copper fish skeleton. What else would a skeletal heron eat but a skeletal fish?
