Description: Anders Hogstrom is well known for his precision and sense of design and it clearly shines through in this Stiletto. Japanese techniques and nicely melded with the European blade style to create a fusion unique to Anders' work.
The 1050 carbon steel blade has been double clay tempered using a traditional Japanese method. Clay was packed on the center of the blade resulting in the dramatic double edged heat treatment lines. The blade is very hard at the edges with a softer, supportive central line. This allows the inherent resilience in the steel to remain where it is needed and the edges to take and maintain a very sharp, wear resistant edge.
The handle is created from exhibition grade bocote wood. The warm wood combines lighter tones with deep brown veins and is brought to a high polish. Bronze fittings finish off both the knife and matching bocote sheath. Exceptional work throughout!
