Description: Charles Sauer’s knifemaking philosophy is simple: “Let me build you a knife you'll use!" He builds knives so that they may last for several generations and makes sure that every knife that leaves his shop is one-of-a-kind.
The drop point blade was forged from 1084 and 15N20 carbon steels and formed into a tight twist pattern. A differential heat treatment assures a keen, long lasting edge with a softer, supportive spine. Sheephorn scales are set on a fileworked full tang. When wet, sheep horn does not become slippery, and it is amazingly durable. The sheephorn is meticulously dovetailed to Damascus bolsters. Showing the integrity of his workmanship, Charles has set the bolsters with hand made Damascus pins. The fit and finish, along with the fileworked spine, make this a knife that will feel at home in a collection but is sturdy enough for use out in the field.
