Description: Webb Hammond began by hand forging this large blade from his own Damascus. The long clip is brought just shy of a razor edge. The handle is formed from fossil walrus ivory surrounded by stellar sea cow bone. The stellar sea cow became extinct in 1768, only a few short years after being discovered (due to an unfortunate combination of moving slowing and tasting good). Red fiber surrounds nickel spacers, allowing the handle to adjust to temperature and humidity changes. The knife is easily displayed in the accompanying display stand. The knife is secured through a mammoth rib bone, which is in turn supported by ash wood. Nice work throughout!
