Description: This majestic Japanese influenced sword is the work of up-and-coming maker Michael Rader. Michael forged the long, slender blade to shape from 5160 carbon steel. The spring steel was fully hardened and the spine was given a soft back draw. This results in a blade that can flex to a full 45 degrees without taking a set! The blade was then meticulously hand satin finished.
The handle and scabbard are both sculpted from teak wood and inlaid with dovetailed black mesquite. The dovetailing and bold mix of wood tones create a very dramatic impression. Both the sheath and the handle are finished with 20 coats of teak oil for a sleek finish. Exceptional work throughout from a very promising maker!
