Description: This exceptional dagger was created by Anders shortly before his mastersmith test in June 2004. In fact, it was his "practice" knife for the quillion dagger -- the centerpiece of the five knives required to become a mastersmith. It has been in a private collection and has been meticulously cared for. It is in new condition. It is no surprise that this exceptional dagger won Best Art Knife at the 2004 Arkansas Custom Knife Show.
The leaf shaped blade was forged to shape from a bold twist pattern and convex ground. 15N20 and 1080 carbon steels assure a keen, long lasting edge. Fittings throughout (including the ring) were forged from matching Damascus.
The handle is very comfortable in the hand and has substantial visual impact. Fossil mammoth ivory has been cross grooved and adorned with nickel silver pins. The ivory is surrounded by a Damascus ferrule and pommel. Exceptional work throughout.
