Description: Raymond Richard's designs have a timeless grace about them that comes from a family heritage of knifemaking and the inclusion of hard to find materials from the past.
This large upswept utility knife has a great feel in the hand. The blade was forged from a 1959 Nash Metro leaf spring. The spring steel holds up exceptionally under use. The blade has been antiqued and shows a clear differential temper line, resulting in an edge that is extremely hard and will stay sharp through extended use.
The guard and butt are forged from wrought iron that was recovered from an 1850s era anchor chain. The wrought iron has a Damascene pattern and has been carved to perfection. A hammered finish continues the antiqued feel to the knife. The maple burl handle is comfortable in the hand and a nice grain structure. Excellent fit and finish throughout.
