Description: The team of Tom Sterling and JP Higgins is a formidable force. Joe Higgins, who has been flint knapping knives for over 10 years, created the blade of this masterpiece with precision. This skill is matched in the detailed handle created by Tom Sterling, who has brought his attention to detail learned as an internationally known netsuke artist to this piece.
A cultural fusion of Celtic designs and the Roman "Pugio" style dagger are manifested in this masterpiece by Tom Sterling and JP Higgins. The Roman "Pugio" dagger was the utility knife carried by every Roman soldier and was used for general purposes ranging from cooking dinner to dispatching enemies. The Mayan bloodwood handle has "insane" (according to Tom) amounts of pyrographed Celtic knots on yellowheart inlays in the handle. Ebony detailing accents and reflects the black of the blade. The large blade was percussion flaked from rainbow obsidian with outstanding matching flake scars.
Accompanied by black walnut presentation box.
