Description: Coming back from the Blade show with journeyman smith test knives is one of my great highlights of the year. Five knives were made by each applicant that are the height of their work. These knives were judged by ABS Mastersmiths on fit and finish, as well as general artistry. The standards are exacting. This sambar stag hunter was one of the five knives that Jerry selected as the best of his work for judging by the masters.
The satin finished blade features an appleseed grind, the edge preferred by many ABS Mastersmiths for its exceptional edge holding ability. The nickel silver guard has been satin finished and meets up perfectly with the sambar stag handle. Sambar is becoming increasingly difficult to find in the United States and creates a perfect handle material that is both attractive and holds up well under use.
