Description: Here is a knife that is both good looking and very functional. The handle is made to please the eye as well as the hand. The fit of the mother of pearl scales to the Timascus bolsters is very smooth. The backbar has a slightly raised profile to give the knife a more secure fit into the hand, and the textured thumb ramp adds to that solid feeling. The mother of pearl scales are well figured and have predominantly pink and blue sunrise hues with full spectrum flash. The blade opens and closes with an authoritative click.
John Fraps has been one of the up and coming makers to fully embrace Timascus -- a new material that is quickly hitting the knife market with a vengeance. Created by a group which includes Tom Ferry, Timascus is a very light and durable "Damascus" created by forging different grades of Titanium. The heat colored Timascus is brilliant blue and dark bronze.
