Description: George Baartman lives in Warmbaths, South Africa, and is a member of the Knifemakers' Guild of Southern Africa. He makes stunning liner locks and slipjoints. This linerlock front flipper is a nice example of George's clean work.
The blade is perfectly centered and features smooth action. The blade can be easily flicked open using thumb. This style of front flipper does not get caught on things in the pocket.
The clip point blade is a damascus san mai forged from stainless steels to ensure excellent edge holding and chip resistance. A high performance RWL-34 powdered metallurgical stainless steel core is surrounded by many layers of nickel and 1Cr17Ni7. A deep hollow grind provides an easy-to-maintain cutting edge. Baartman's touchmark is engraved on the left side of the blade.
Handle scales are carbon fiber set on fileworked titanium liners. Crosscut carbon fiber and blue fiber liners separate the carbon fiber scales from the carbon fiber bolsters. The raised torx pivot is surrounded by a matching pivot collar. The deep carry stainless steel pocket clip is mounted for right-side, tip-up carry.
Excellent work throughout!
