Description: Hennie Steenkamp is a knifemaker from Potchefstroom, South Africa focusing on high performance folders and fixed blades. He was welcomed into the elite ranks of the Knifemakers' Guild of Southern Africa in 2023. This is no surprise given the excellent build quality of his knives. We are excited to represent some of his work at BladeGallery.
The blade is perfectly centered and has silky-smooth action thanks to the Skiff-made caged ceramic ball bearing pivot. The knife can be easily deployed using the ambidextrous front flipper tab. The blade rockets open and locks firmly in place with the locking liner.
The hand ground blade is Draupner pattern stainless damascus forged by Damasteel in Sweden. This high performing stainless damascus is created using powder metallurgical manufacturing to provide excellent edge retention and unmatched beauty. The blade is hollow ground for an easy to maintain edge that does not need to be thinned often over time. Hennie's touchmark is on the left side of the blade.
Handle scales are Green Dark Matter FatCarbon set on polished titanium liners. The liners surround a zirconium backbar. The 3D machined Damasteel pocket clip is mounted for right-side, tip-up carry.
Excellent work throughout!
