Description: Mardi Meshejian's knives are always exciting -- combining his skilled workmanship with a unique perspective on edged art -- he is a unique and talented artist first and foremost. This utility knife is an exceptional example of his unique work.
The 3-1/2 inch blade is forged from Mardi's own damascus, combining 1080 and 15N20 carbon steel to ensure excellent edge holding and chip resistance. The bold damascus pattern pulls you in for further inspection. The blade is flat ground. Mardi's touchmark is on the left side of the blade.
The handle is hand sculpted ancient walrus ivory. The asymmetrical handle is flat on one side and fluted on the reverse. This allows it to fit in the right hand perfectly. The asymmetrical guard is copper. It features a traditional Japanese patina known as Hido. The copper is heated until right before its melting point and quenched to produce a very pleasing scarlet-red patina. It creates a bold contrast to the damascus blade and ivory handle.
A padded zipper case is included to store the knife.
Excellent work throughout!
