Description: Tim Robertson began making knives in 2004 after being told he couldn’t build a slip joint -- a challenge that sparked his passion for traditional folder construction. Initially self-taught, he joined the broader knife community only a few years ago at the recommendation of a fellow knifemaker. He has since been guided by many makers he now calls friends. Specializing in traditional slipjoints and backlocks with natural handle materials, he is a proud member of the South Texas Slipjoint Cartel.
This knife is based on the Remington 1306 Lockback. Tim created the knife at 80% scale for a more carry-friendly model.
The clip point blade is CPM-154 stainless steel with a meticulous hand rubbed satin finish. This powdered metallurgical steel has a particularly small grain structure, making it take an extremely keen edge and hold it while remaining tough and chip resistant. The blade features a hand rubbed satin finish. Jimping along the spine provides a positive thumb purchase. Tim's touchmark is on the ricasso of the left side of the blade.
The blade is well centered and has silky smooth action. The blade locks up firmly with a strong backlock.
Handle scales are premium mammoth ivory bark, secured to the stainless steel frame using hand domed pins. The mammoth ivory is well matched in very rare green tones with a hint of blue and cream. A bullet escutcheon made from brass, copper, and steel is inlaid into the left side of the handle. The stainless steel bolsters are integral to the liners with the insides being mill-relieved for smooth action and superior build-strength. A lanyard can be added to the back of the handle for extra retention.
A branded zipper case is included to protect the knife.
Excellent work throughout!
