Description: Mastersmith Henry Torres makes an exceptional high performing hunter! He had the opportunity to work under renowned Mastersmith Bill Burke in the spring of 2006. This allowed him to best understand Bill's techniques of heat treating and implementation, which result in a level of edge holding rarely found elsewhere. Lately, Henry's damascus blades have been hard to come by. This is an exceptionally well done hunter that shows Henry's skills at their best.
The drop point blade is forged from Henry's own damascus, combining 1084 and 15N20 carbon steels to ensure excellent edge holding and chip resistance. A raindrop pattern at the spine and linear layers at the cutting edge provide an appearance of clouds floating over the ocean. The blade is convex ground with a slight recurve to increase cutting power on draw cuts. Henry's touchmark is on the left side of the blade. His Mastersmith mark is on the right side. We recommend using camellia oil to protect the blade from rust.
The handle is Sambar stag. The natural texture of the antler provides a comfortable, non-slip grip. A satin finished 416 stainless steel guard and end cap seal the handle. Black G-10 and a hand fileworked copper spacer finish the handle.
To keep the knife close at hand, a hand stitched pouch style leather sheath is included.
Excellent work throughout!
