Description: JD van Deventer creates unique knives of the highest degree of craftsmanship and performance. He took up knifemaking in 2005 and became a member of the Knifemaker’s Guild of Southern Africa by 2007. He works in a one man shop and even builds most of his machines himself! He is clearly a maker to keep an eye on! The Palladium model, designed by Jared Van Otterloo (JVO), is the newest knife coming out of JD's shop. This Persian-influenced design is extremely lightweight (just 2.4oz) and has an ergonomic handle that feels great in any grip. This newest rendition makes the popular model a slipjoint allowing it to be carried in even more restrictive environments.
The blade is perfectly centered and has smooth action with a firm half stop. The blade is easily opened using the nail nick.
The raised clip blade is premium CPM-154 stainless steel. CPM-154 stainless steel made by Crucible in the USA. CPM-154 provides exceptional edge retention and high corrosion resistance that a high end knife demands. The blade features a hand rubbed satin finish. Deventer's touchmark is on the left side of the blade.
Stonewashed titanium handle scales are set on a 316 stainless steel spring. Fluted titanium pivot collars are darkened. The lightly contoured handle provides a comfortable grip.
Excellent work throughout!
