Description: This Willem Steenkamp custom trapper slipjoint is a fantastic utility folder. The clip point blade and ergonomic handle are perfectly designed and implemented. This classic trapper design is one of the most famous slipjoint patterns available.
Willem was accepted as a member of the Knifemakers’ Guild of Southern Africa (KGSA) in May of 2007. His attention to detail is clearly evident in his knives.
The clip point blade is N690 stainless steel with a hand rubbed satin finish. N690 is created by Bohler in Austria. It takes an incredibly sharp edge and holds onto it. Increased toughness gives it better resistance to edge chipping. The blade is hollow ground for an easy to maintain edge.
The blade is perfectly centered with a firm half stop -- easily opened using the right-handed thumb nick.
The handle is amber dyed jigged bone perfectly fit to satin finished 304 stainless steel bolsters. A polished stainless steel escutcheon is inlaid into the left side scale. Red fiber liners will help the natural bone adjust to humidity and temperature changes.
A hand stitched leather pocket slip and monogrammed zipper case is included to store the knife safely.
Excellent work throughout!
