Description: Sandro Boeck is a bladesmith from Brazil creating knives of the highest caliber. Sandro has over two decades of experience making knives and has won multiple awards for his knives. He is also a Journeyman Smith with the American Blade Society. The opportunity to work under Mastersmith Jerry Fisk helped elevate his work to the next level! We are excited to showcase his exceptional work at BladeGallery.
Explorer George Washington Sears, who was born in 1821, lived with Nipmuc Indians and learned skills of wilderness living. He is best known for his writings under the pen name of "Nessmuk", which dates from 1880 - 1890. During this time, he developed the knife pattern which would later bear his name. This pattern is believed by many woodsman to be the perfect knife, even today. The deep belly allows it to be an excellent skinning knife, with the weight brought toward the tip.
The swayback blade features a beautiful raindrop pattern damascus forged by Sandro from 1080 and 15N20 carbon steels, ensuring excellent edge holding and toughness. The deeply etched, high contrast pattern can be seen easily from a distance. The blade is flat ground and razor sharp. Sandro's touchmark and Journeyman Smith mark are inlaid in gold on the left side of the blade. A stag's footprint trail is on the right side of the blade. Because the knife is forged from carbon steels, we recommend using camellia oil to protect the blade and natural stag handle.
The handle features a downturned section of stag that retains its natural texturing to provide the perfect grip. The balance of this knife is perfectly centered right behind the bolster. The bolster is forged from matching damascus. The pommel is engraved with the symbol of St. Hubert. St. Hubert was born in Toulouse, France and died May 30th, 727 AD. Hubert was a Christian saint who became the first bishop of Liège in 708 A.D. He is the patron saint of hunters, mathematicians, opticians, and metalworkers. While this knife will serve you well in the field, it can easily be the center of any high end knife collection!
To keep the knife close at hand, a custom sheath made from leather with an ostrich shin leather inlay is included. A display stand made by Sandro also accompanies the knife. Additionally a premium leather zipper case is included for safe transportation.
Excellent work throughout!
