Description: This utility knife was made by South Carolina knifemaker Sam Cox. Sam began making knives in 1981 and made this knife in 1990. It has been kept in a private collection and has been meticulously cared for. By all appearances, Sam could have made it yesterday.
The hand ground blade is ATS-34 stainless steel. It is hollow ground for easy maintenance. Sam’s mark is on the left side. The spine is fileworked for a secure thumb purchase.
East African panga panga ( Millettia stuhlmannii) scales are set on the distal tapered full tang for strength and durability. The scales are nicely dovetailed to satin finished 416 stainless steel bolsters.
The knife is accompanied by a hand stitched leather sheath.
Nice work throughout!
