Description: This Kiridashi was made by Eugene, OR knifemaker Ben Tendick. Ben is a full time knifemaker and started making knives in 2010. He is well known throughout the industry for his Japanese-American hybrid style.
Kiridashi are small knives used throughout Japan for doing all sorts of tasks. They are used in woodworking for marking and for detail tasks around the house. In the past, these knives were even carried by school children, who would use them to sharpen pencils, cut wood, and the like.
This Kiridashi features a 2 inch blade flat ground to a razor edge. The blade is hand ground CPM-3V carbon steel. This powdered metallurgical steel provides maximum resistance to breakage and chipping in a high wear-resistant steel. An acid wash finish prevents light reflection on the blade.
The epoxy hardened wrapping (tsuka ito) features a royal purple underwrap and a tan overwrap. The low profile handle feels exceptional, yet allows for comfortable concealed carry.
This tactical utility knife is accompanied by a custom Kydex sheath.
Excellent work throughout!
