Description: This Combat Fighter is the work of Dennis Friedly of Cody, Wyoming. Dennis sold his first knife back in 1972 and is well known for his clean, consistent work. He first learned about knife making from deceased legend Harvey Draper. Friedly is always especially careful to make sure each piece is well balanced to the eye and not overdone with frivolous embellishments. Dennis is a voting member of the Knifemakers Guild and has won numerous awards, including the coveted 2006 Solvang Best of Show, the BACCA Best Hunter, and the Baretta Award twice! This Fighter was kept in a private collection since it was made. It appears to have never been cut with or carried. By all appearances, Dennis could have made it yesterday!
The clip point blade is CPM-3V tool steel with a hand rubbed satin finish. CPM-3V is a fine-grained powdered tool steel that provides maximum breakage and chip resistance in a high wear-resistant steel. It is one of the toughest steels available on the market. The top clip is sharpened. The primary bevel is hollow ground and razor sharp. Friedly's touchmark is on the left side of the blade.
The handle is hand contoured green Micarta. Alternating black and stainless spacers surround the Micarta handle. The handle is finished with a satin finished guard and end cap.
Excellent work throughout!
