Description: Mastersmith Rick Dunkerley's knives are unique and immediately identifiable. As one of the 'Montana Mafia', Rick was integral in creating the Montana folder. It is tremendously rare to find a fixed blade knife by Mastersmith Rick Dunkerley. Every so often, however, the inspiration hits and the result is beyond compare. This knife was kept in a private collection since it was made around 2004. It is in brand new, mint condition and by all appearances, Rick could have made yesterday!
Rick forged the twisted W’s pattern damascus combining 15N20 and 1084 carbon steels. It is polished and heat blued for a dramatic appearance. The hand fileworked spine moves into a long swedge. The 1084 carbon steel S-guard was textured, fileworked, and heat blued. A spacer set between the guard the ancient walrus ivory handle is hand fileworked and heat blued 15N20 carbon steel. The handle is carved from a single piece of ancient walrus ivory. It is predominantly cream toned with islands of caramel. It has been carved and textured, providing both tremendous interest for the eye and a secure hand hold.>br> As you would expect from Mastersmith Rick Dunkerley, exceptional fit and finish throughout.
