Description: Iowa knifemaker Mike Zcherny has beeen making knives since 1978 and is a full time maker. He is a very well known maker and specializes in slipjoint and liner lock folders. Mike has become known as one of the leaders of slipjoint folders. His knives have exquisite fit and finith. It is no surprise, that his wait list has become exceptionally long. This folder was inspired by the famous tanto designed by the late Bob Lum.
The blade is CPM-154 stainless steel with a hand rubbed satin finish. This powdered metallurgical steel has a particularly small grain structure, making it take an extremely keen edge and hold it while remaining tough and chip resistant. The blade can be easily opened using the right-handed thumb stud, inlaid with whitelip mother of pearl. Mike's touchmark is on the left ricasso.
Presentation grade whitelip mother of pearl handle scales meet seamlessly with satin finished titanium bolsters. Titanium liners keep the knife light, yet strong. Jimping on the lockbar make the lock easy to disengage.
Exceptional work throughout!
