Description: Mastersmith Shane Taylor has been fascinated by Kukri for most of his career and built his first one about 5 years ago. The Gurkha knife has inspired many knifemakers over the years and it is no surprise that this legendary blade affected Shane's (already creative) imagination.
The blade was forged to shape from Shane's own damascus. The complex blade combines four bars of damascus. Despite its smaller size, a deep recurve gives this khukri massive chopping power.
Ancient mammoth ivory bark handle scales are beautifully contoured for a secure, comfortable, swinging grip. They are set on the full tang with textured and heat colored screws. The ancient ivory displays the texture of the outer bark and includes rare green tones. Colors in the ivory develop across thousands of years as minerals move from the permafrost into the ancient ivory. Both the blade and tang are distal tapered, ensuring a perfect sense of balance. This Khukri is relatively light and extremely nimble. You won't be able to resist swinging it!
This Khukri is accompanied by a pouch style leather custom sheath.
Absolutely exceptional!
