Description: Trevor Morgan Jr. of Apple Valley Forge resides in Apple Valley, California. He forges bowie knives, hunting knives, and high performance chef's knives. Taking classes with renowned Mastersmith David Lisch has taken Trevor's work to an entirely different level of design as well as fit and finish. We were extremely pleased to meet Trevor at Blade Show 2023 and to be able to offer his exceptional work at our gallery.
The blade on this drop point hunter is hand forged 1084 carbon steel with an heirloom quality hand rubbed satin finish. 1084 carbon steel is an excellent steel choice for high end knives. It combines tremendous edge holding and chip resistance. The only drawback is it needs to be kept dry to help prevent rust. Because of this, we recommend using camellia oil to protect the knife from rust. Trevor's touchmark is on the left side of the blade.
The handle is sculpted African blackwood. African blackwood is among the most dense, durable woods in the world and is highly prized for its jet black appearance. The bronze guard features a gem finish and will prevent your hand from sliding over the blade during use.
To keep the knife close at hand, a hand stitched pouch style leather custom sheath is included.
Excellent work throughout!
