Description: Padadaho - the Serpent King from Seattle knifemaker Jeff Driscoll is not your run of the mill desk knife. This highly sculpted presentation combines a detailed serpent's head sheath with a tail-handled blade. The knife fits in the sheath up or down.
The san mai damascus blade was forged by Vlad Matveev of Bryansk, Russia. Mosaic damascus sides surround a central core of carbon steel providing excellent edge holding and unmatched beauty, A layer of nickel provides an elegant transition line between the damascus and dark etched core.
The handle is sculpted from osage orange to represent a serpent's tail. The terraced handle provides a comfortable grip and complements the wood sheath well. The African blackwood bolster provides an elegant contrast to the handle.
The sheath is sculpted Arizona desert ironwood to represent a serpent. The figure of the wood chosen is exceptional, complementing the motif well. Spikes along the top of the head are made from Matt Whitmus damascus. Eyes are formed from copper, brass, and steel. The back of the sheath is wrapped in ostrich skin, creating the appearance of serpent's leather.
Nice work throughout!
