Description: Corbet Sigman, who passed away during the summer of 2006, made spectacular knives. This drop point hunter was made in 1974. The knife was meticulously cared for and has never been sharpened (after being made) or used to cut. It is in as new condition possible for a 50 year old knife. This is among the nicest knives I've ever seen from Corbet!
The drop point blade is hand ground 154CM stainless steel with a meticulous mirror polish. A hollow grind ensures a keen, easy to maintain edge. 154CM provides good edge holding and chip resistance, while maintaining high corrosive resistance. This makes it perfect for a general use knife. Corbet's touchmark is on the left side of the blade.
Handle scales are antique Micarta set on the full tang using four engraved pins. The tang is distal tapered providing perfect balance in hand. The nickel silver front and rear bolsters are hand engraved with a meticulous scroll engraving. The handle is hand contoured to provide a comfortable, secure grip.
To keep the knife close at hand, a pouch style leather custom sheath is included.
Excellent work throughout!
