Description: Anders Högström is a talented maker from Johanneshov, Sweden. He combines traditional Nordic, Japanese, and medieval styles into one and makes it his own. He is well known for his exceptional fit and finish and well done designs. Just about everything Högström makes is truly one-of-a-kind!
The dagger ground 1050 carbon steel blade features a differential heat treatment. The undulating line travelling across the blade was created by a technique Hogstrom borrowed from Japanese swords. The center of the blade was coated in clay prior to quenching. By acting as a heat sink, the clay results in a keen, long lasting cutting edge with a softer, supportive center. Three decorative holes are featured just above the bolster.
The handle combines ancient walrus ivory with antiqued bronze. An heirloom fit to the bolster assists the ivory to adjust to temperature and humidity changes over the years. The rounded handle fits nicely in the palm regardless of how you hold the knife.
To keep the knife close at hand, a traditional single seam Swedish leather sheath is included. The sheath features decorative holes that match the blade.
Exceptional work throughout!
