Description: Mastersmith Rick Dunkerley's knives are unique and immediately identifiable. As one of the 'Montana Mafia', he developed liner locks with some of the smoothest action of any folder made today. He proves that washers create action that is just as smooth as bearings. This folder has silky-smooth, drop shut action and is easily opened with three 'Delana dots' set on each side of the swedge.
Ancient mammoth ivory scales are set on 15N20 carbon steel liners. The liners are meticulously hand fileworked and nitre blued. The ancient ivory is hand carved. Green and caramel tones in the ivory developed as minerals moved from surrounding soil into the ivory across thousands of years.
The blade is hand forged 228 layer wave pattern damascus. It features an elegant boot grind which shows off the heat colored damascus perfectly. It is easily opened using three 'Delana dots', set in 18K gold. The bolsters are color case hardened and inlaid with 24k gold. The backbar is meticulously hand engraved inside and out. Dunkerley's mark is engraved on the interior of the backbar. Screws throughout have been meticulously hand fileworked.
Absolutely exceptional!
