Description: I was excited when Mastersmith David Lisch introduced me to Mike Clark Jr back in 2018. Mike's attention to detail was clearly evident in his exquisite work. Given the level of work, it is no surprise that Mike easily passed his JS Test at the 2019 Blade Show in Atlanta, GA.
The hand forged blade features an elegant clip point. High performing 1084 carbon steel ensures a keen, long lasting edge. It features an heirloom quality hand rubbed satin finish.
The handle is formed from verawood. Verawood (Bulnesia arborea) has a very similar appearance and working characteristic to lignum vitae, and is sometimes referred to as Argentine lignum vitae. It is extremely hard, dense, oily, and has a feathered grain pattern with a distinct brownish-olive color. It ia spectacular wood for a knife handle. The guard and butt cap are heat blued mild steel. A satin finished 416 stainless steel ferrule adds nice contrast. As is typical of Mike Clark's work, this knife featuers take-down construction. This technique, which requires exceptional attention to detail, allows the knife to be disassebled if it ever needs repair.
This knife is accompanied by a custom hand tooled, hand stitched leather sheath.
Exceptional work throughout!
