Description: Morgan Axelsson is a Swedish custom knife maker from Bockara. He works as a welder and sheet metal worker at the Scania cab plant in Oskarshamn by day and makes custom knives on the side. Custom knifemaking is for him the perfect way to express and develop his artistic thoughts and ideas. His knives are highly functional and inherently beautiful.
The drop point blade is a multi-bar mosaic damascus forged by Swedish bladesmith Henry Hilden. A central damascus bar is surrounded by an explosion pattern damascus cutting edge and spine. The intricate damascus is highly engaging and will have you staring at the blade for hours. It is hollow ground to a razor sharp edge and fileworked along the spine to provide a secure thumb purchase. Morgan's maker mark is shown on the right ricasso.
The handle combines two sections of crosscut mammoth ivory surrounding a section of dyed and stabilized masur birch. Spacers set between the ivory and wood will help the materials adjust to humidity and temperature changes. A teardrop shaped dark blue opal is inlaid on the left side of the handle and an oval shaped green and blue opal is inlaid into the right side of the handle. A mammoth ivory guard finishes the handle. The rounded handle is extremely comfortable in several different grips.
To keep the knife close at hand, a traditional single seam leather sheath is included. The belt loop is fastened on a ring that allows the sheath to move out of the way when sitting down.
Exceptional work throughout!
