Description: Mastersmith Mike Vagnino began his journey into knifemaking back in 1995, starting with a forging class from Karl Shroen. He continued his training under the watchful eye of Mastersmith Tim Hancock. He received his journeyman smith rating in 2001 and his Mastersmith rating in 2003. He strives to build high performing, yet beautiful knives.
The classic slip joint folder is given an elegant new lease on life in this knife by Michael Vagnino. The Lanny's Clip design was developed by renowned folder maker Tony Bose for his friend Lanny Shell from Tennessee. Lanny saw the knife and bought the first ten that Tony produced. Lanny's Clip is now an iconic design and a favorite in the slip joint community.
The blade is formed from a Japanese san mai. Layers of alternating nickel and stainless steel surround a premium VG10 stainless steel core. This technique ensures a keen, long lasting, and durable cutting edge with exceptional beauty.
The blade is perfectly centered with a firm half stop -- easily opened with the right handed thumb nick.
The titanium handle features an entropic finish. This is a finish that Michael developed in cooperation with Olamic Tactical. This creates an appearance that is similar to titanium damascus. The handle scales have been fileworked and fluted.
Exceptional work throughout!
