Description: Growing up in an age when there were no computers and very little television, a good deal of Robert Flynt's time was spent playing in the woods where a knife was a necessary tool. This gave him a fascination for knives that he never got over. In 1966, he made his first knife out of a industrial reciprocating saw blade while working in the ship building industry. In 2006 he retired from his primary profession and became a full time knife maker. This damascus bowie is a perfect example of the skills he has acquired throughout the years!
The clip point blade was ground to shape by Robert using a damascus multibar forged by Konstantin Lysenko in Donetsk, Ukraine. The blade combines a central feather pattern bar with a firecracker pattern spine and cutting edge. The result is a stunning display of beautiful, highly detailed damascus. A choil allows you to choke up on the blade for more detail oriented tasks.
The handle is constructed from dyed and stabilized koa burl wood that meets perfectly with the file worked stainless steel spacer and guard. The hidden tang handle features an heirloom fit that ensures the handle will stay well fit together for generations to come.
To keep the knife protected during transportation, Robert included a hand built brown leather sheath -- showing his skills as a sheathmaker as well as a knifemaker. The sheath features a frog skin inlay and tooling around the border of the inlay.
Excellent work throughout!
