Description: Mastersmith Kevin Harvey is well known for his tremendous attention to detail -- only matched by his skill at design. This integral recurve utility knife is an excellent example of his work. Regretfully, few of Harvey's knives make it to the US these days. I was extremely excited when I was able to get this knife on a recent trip to his homestead in Belfast South Africa.
Kevin Harvey began this gent's utility by forging his own butterflies pattern damascus to shape. By forging the damascus from carbon steels, Kevin ensures a keen, long lasting edge. The recurve shape provides an aggressive, clean cut. A distal taper to the blade provides optimal balance.
The integral damascus handle swells at the palm, providing both a comfortable hold and lightening the weight.
This knife is accompanied by a hand stitched leather sheath.
Exceptional work throughout.
