Description: Ryuichi (Dew) Hara is the son of renowned knifemaker Koji Hara. Dew grew up in a knife family and naturally got involved with the knifemaking by helping his father and learning his techniques. Koji Hara is well known for creating art knives with tremendous precision and detailed inlays. After working in his father's workshop for over 20 years and completing an apprenticeship with Anthony Marfione, Dew decided to create his own knives.
This Noah Flipper is one impressive knife! The 3-1/2 inch modified tanto blade is made from VG-10 stainless damascus san mai steel. The front grind is flat ground, while the back section is hollow ground. The linear damascus lines really emphasize this unique 'nightmare' grind. Antiqued copper plates are suspended in the blade and can be used to rotate the blade out manually. The blade also easily opens using the jimped ambidextrous flipper tab. Ball bearings keep the action effortlessly smooth and the blade is perfectly centered.
The ergonomic handle is constructed from carbon fiber and features patinaed copper inlays. The 420 stainless steel liners have been textured and surround a textured titanium backbar. The shape gives you a rock-solid grip in both the forward and reverse grips and Dew has chosen to go with Microtech's tamper-proof screws to put this knife together. A small finger choil provides a perfect rest for precise cutting tasks. Jimping on the thumb ramp ensures a secure grip. The pocket clip is mounted for right-handed, tip-up carry.
Excellent work throughout!
