Description: Trevor Burger is a second-generation knifemaker following in the steps of his father, Fred Burger. He has an eye for detail. His knives have exceptionally smooth action and clean, no-nonsense designs.
The EXK was originally developed by Trevor's father in conjunction with Mike Skellern, and continues to be one of the most popular folders that he makes. The blade runs on bronze washers and has silky-smooth action. It is easily opened single-handed using the gent's front flipper. This mechanism is not designed to be flicked open, but instead is simply rotated out with the thumb or forefinger. The blade is perfectly centered.
The blade is formed from Bohler N690 stainless steel, with a Rockwell hardness of 59. A hand rubbed satin finish lends an heirloom quality to this knife. N690 takes an incredibly sharp edge and holds on to it. Increased toughness gives it better resistance to edge chipping. The blade features a full hollow grind for precision cutting and an easy to maintain edge.
The handle is formed from carbon fiber. By using one anodized titanium liner, Trevor is able to reduce both weight and thickness of the knife, while maintaining strength and durability. A red fiber spacer brings in warm tones. The handle is completed with an anodized titanium pocket clip.
