Description: This folding knife was made by South African knifemaker Herucus Blomerus. A resident of Pretoria, Herucus (pronounced 'eh-roo-koos') has been a proud member of the South African Knifemakers Guild since 2005.
The drop point N690 stainless blade is meticulously hand satin finished in the grinds and mirror polished on the flats. N690 is a super-steel created by Bohler in Austria. It takes an incredibly sharp edge and holds on to it. The increased toughness gives it better resistance to edge chipping. The blade is hollow ground for easy, quick touchups.
The blade is easily opened by using the flipper mechanism. It is perfectly centered and has silky-smooth action due to the IKBS (Ikoma Korth Bearing System) pivot system. This mechanism, which was originally designed to fit balisong knives, uses ball bearings to create smooth action with no blade play.
Handle scales are formed from stacked black/blue G-10. The 3D contoured scales provide a comfortable, secure grip! Titanium liners keep the knife light and strong. The knife is easy to keep close at hand using the machined titanium pocket clip which is mounted for right-handed, tip-up carry. A ceramic bearing makes this a particularly effective pocket clip.
Herucus is clearly a maker to keep an eye out for - exceptional fit and finish throughout!
