Description: Journeyman Smith Dionatam Franco hails from Brazil. His skill in the forge is only matched with his tremendous attention to detail.
The clip point blade is created from some of the most dramatic mosaic damascus I have ever encountered. The radialed steel is combined into a very fine pattern Franco calls Micro Explosion. There is absolutely zero distortion in the complex pattern. The blade features a swooping clip and convex grind.
The handle is formed from presentation grade, jet black ebony wood. The handle is carved to swell at the palm, move into a slimmer waist and swell again at the end of the handle. A mosaic pin sets the handle in place. An oval guard and ferrule are formed from damascus. Thin fileworked stainless steel spacers surround the ferrule. A central spacer formed from 18kt gold brings in warmth.
The knife is accompanied by a hand tooled leather sheath.
Absolutely exceptional work throughout.
