Description: Anders Hogstrom creates knives with an intriguing fusion of Japanese and Nordic cultures. He blends the techniques and styles of his native Sweden with those learned from Scott Slobodian during his apprenticeship in the United States. This influence, combined with his tremendous skill, makes for knives that are beautifully original.
This Kwaiken from Anders is truly exceptional! The blade began with ladder pattern damascus forged from carbon steels. The high contrast pattern immediately grabs attention.
The handle is formed from ancient walrus ivory. The tip of the touch includes caramel, blue/green and cream tones for a particularly dramatic ivory. Across thousands of years, these colors moved into the ivory from mineral deposits. The antiqued and textured bronze guard provides perfect visual balance.
The knife is accompanied by a traditional Swedish single seamed leather sheath.
Exceptional work throughout!
