Description: Japanese knifemaker Captain Bunshichi Koyama's designs are truly innovative. He designs and develops his knives with unique locking mechanisms that immediately capture the imagination. This one features an opening mechanism controlled by a push button. The blade is easily opened using the flipper tab. To close the blade, the button above the pivot is pressed. Koyama-san calls this mechanism a Pool-Lock.
The damascus blade is formed from alternating layers of stainless steels forged around a premium VG10 stainless steel core. This combination provides exceptional edge holding and durability.
Dyed and stabilized maple burl handle scales are set on anodized titanium liners. A carbon fiber bolster meets with the scales in an elegant curve. A carbon fiber backbar keeps the knife light and strong. The carbon fiber and anodized titanium pocket clip is mounted for right handed, tip-down carry.
Nice work throughout on a very creative knife!
