Description: South African knifemaker André Thorburn creates an exceptional folder. The action is silky smooth -- easily opened with one hand using the ambidextrous front flipper toggle. The blade uses the IKBS (Ikoma Korth Bearing System) pivot system. This mechanism, which was originally designed to fit balisong knives, uses ball bearings to create exceptional action with no blade play.
The N690 stainless blade is meticulously hand satin finished. N690 is a super-steel created by Bohler in Austria. It takes an incredibly sharp edge and holds it. The increased toughness gives it better resistance to edge chipping, and the blade has been hollow ground for an easy to maintain edge.
The unique scales combine layers of black carbon fiber and toxic green G10 that have been nicely domed and polished. Jimping on the thumb ramp provides a comfortable, secure grip. The gently rounded handle feels sturdy and fills out the hand perfectly. The engraved, differentially anodized titanium bolsters provide a steadfast grip that is also very beautiful. Titanium liners sit against red fiber spacers and have been fileworked and differentially anodized. A G10 backspacer helps keep the knife light. The pierced titanium pocket clip is mounted for tip-up carry.
Exceptional work throughout!
