Description: This is an exceptional damascus hunter by Seattle bladesmith David Lisch. It has been in a private collection and has been meticulously cared for. It has never been used to cut and shows no evidence of any wear. By all appearances it could have been made yesterday.
This 5 inch clip point blade is a complex mosaic damascus that shows tremendous control. The influence of Mastersmiths Tom Ferry and Jon Christensen is clearly evident in the intricate, dramatic mosaic damascus.
A central column of premium sambar stag provides a secure, comfortable grip. David is particularly well known for his use of stag and this one shows his skill well. The stag is perfectly shaped and has just enough of its natural texture to be a fantastically secure grip while being very comfortable. The guard is formed from antique wrought iron. The wrought iron shows its unique texture which nicely matches the texture of the stag. Showing Dave's roots as a blacksmith, the pommel is carved into a wizened face.
Exceptional work throughout!
