Description: South African knifemaker Andre van Heerden is well known for making impeccable precision knives. From lockup to fit and finish, Andre's knives are in a league of their own. Though his name is practically synonymous with IKBS, this gent's folder shows just how smooth and perfectly centered a liner lock can be -- even without bearings!
The drop point N690 stainless blade is meticulously hand satin finished in the grinds and mirror polished on the flats which shows off clean, dramatic grind lines. N690 is a super-steel created by Bohler in Austria. It takes an incredibly sharp edge and holds it. The increased toughness gives it better resistance to edge chipping. It is hollow ground for easy maintenance.
The handle is formed from carbon fiber set against mokume gane bolsters. The combination of the black carbon fiber with the warm toned mokume is a perfect match. Anodized titanium liners surround the stainless steel backbar.
Exceptional work throughout!
