Description: Ole Pedersen was born and raised in Denmark but now hails from Washington State and is a new knifemaker to watch. His work shows tremendous attention to detail and has clean, crisp lines. Makers such as Bruce Bump and Todd Begg have guided Ole in the art of knife making. Ole finds inspiration in our avian friends and he named this knife the Crane.
The hollow ground blade is formed from CPM154 stainless steel, an excellent steel well known for its superior edge retention and rust resistant qualities. A clip point and distal tapered tang ensure optimal balance. The blade meets the handle with a deep choil for a secure grip. Handle scales are a very attractive stabilized coolibah burl wood and are secured by two stainless steel hidden bolt rivets. By creating a slight rounded dome to the handle, Ole created a knife that is very comfortable to hold. The bolsters are satin finished 416 stainless steel. All transitions between materials are nicely smoothed. This piece is accompanied by a very nice, custom brown leather sheath, with snakeskin inlays made and tooled by Ole's wife, Julie.
