Description: This is the first time Anders has made a leg dagger with matching handle and sheath. After seeing this masur birch, I can understand why he couldn't resist. This is one of the most intriguing pieces of masur birch I've ever seen. Anders uses a traditional Japanese method of heat treating his blades where clay is packed onto the center of the blade. When the blade is heat treated, the edges become very hard while the spine remains relatively soft. This allows the inherent resilience in the steel to remain where it is needed and the edges to take and maintain a very sharp, wear resistant edge. This dagger borrows its handle construction from Japan -- the handle will disassemble by removing the single handle pin, showing a great deal of precision.
