Description: South African knifemaker André Thorburn creates an exceptional folder. The blade is perfectly centered and silky smooth -- easily opened with one hand using the discreet and ambidextrous flipper toggle. The blade uses the IKBS (Ikoma Korth Bearing System) pivot system. This mechanism, which was originally designed to fit balisong knives, uses ball bearings to create exceptional action with no blade play.
The N690 stainless blade is meticulously hand satin finished in the grinds and mirror polished on the flats. N690 is a super-steel created by Bohler in Austria. It takes an incredibly sharp edge and holds on to it. The increased toughness gives it better resistance to edge chipping. The blade is hollow ground for an easy to maintain edge, with jimping on the thumb ramp to ensure a secure thumb purchase.
Like the blade, the handle is constructed for strength and durability. Textured black G10 scales are milled and have a 3D quality with grays in the recesses, and meet perfectly with hand textured stainless steel bolsters. The texturing in the scales and bolsters ensures a positive grip. A pierced stainless steel pocket clip is mounted for right handed tip-up carry. The handle is completed with blue and purple differentially anodized, hand fileworked titanium liners. Exceptional fit throughout.
