Description: This impressive bowie is created by Journeyman Smith Gary Rodewald, and is named "Big Mo". It has a deceptively simple yet elegant quality about it.
The blade is 320 layer random pattern damascus forged from 1080 and 15N20 steels. Gary has combined thicker and thinner layers of steel so as to create a distinctive band resembling a winding river running from ricasso to tip. The swedge is fully sharpened. A double hilt of nickel silver joins the blade to a sculpted and smoothed African blackwood handle. Three finger grooves ensure a comfortable yet secure grip and two nickel silver pins lock the handle in place. A nicely stitched brown leather sheath accompanies this piece.
