Description: This large fighter by Raymond Richard has an ageless sense of grace that is rarely found in knives by other makers. The long blade shape culminates in an elegant clip, resulting in a keen tip. This is a knife you won't want to put down. It is no surprise that it won the 2008 BLADEhandmade Award for Best Fighter.
The blade is 1084 carbon steel, an extremely tough steel with very good edge holding. The heat treatment of the blade ensures a great combination of hardness and toughness. The spine is soft and supportive with a keen, hard, long lasting edge.
The fittings combine antique wrought iron and bronze. The wrought iron was forged from an 1800s era anchor chain. The fittings surround a jet black African blackwood handle. Accompanied by a hand tooled cowhide sheath.
Excellent fit and finish throughout.
