Description: This exceptional folder is the work of South African knifemaker Andre Thorburn. The blade is formed from Heimskringla pattern Damasteel stainless damascus. The pattern is intricately folded and very high contrast, the effect from far away being of a pewter-toned blade that fractures into fascinating complexity up close. The blade itself is well centered and has a luxuriously smooth action, a stainless steel thumb stud aiding speedy deployment.
The bolsters are formed from mosaic damascus forged from carbon steels by renowned French bladesmith Claude Bouchonville and feature a finely detailed series of repeated geometric patterns. They are perfectly fit to the mammoth ivory scales. The mammoth ivory is particularly dramatic, combining green blue and cream tones. This color combination is among the most desirable, and most rare to find. Blue anodized titanium liners have been enhanced with filework along the spine. Red fiber spacers assist the knife to adjust to temperature and humidity changes while providing a dramatic flash of contrast. Excellent fit and finish throughout.
