Description: André Thorburn creates an exceptional folder at an amazingly low price. This piece has a great feel in the hand and will have exceptional edge holding. This compact, light knife will make a fantastic gentleman's every day carry but will also look great in any collection.
Andre began with mosaic damascus forged by Ettore Gianferrari. The mosaic pattern is intricate and geometric, like the view through a kaleidoscope prism. Andre chose to form a wharncliffe blade from the steel, which he has then hot-blued for a higher contrast pattern. As you would expect, the blade is perfectly centered and has a delightfully smooth action. The blade is completed with an inlaid thumb stud.
The scales are formed from caramel toned mammoth ivory, cut to reveal the grain and polished to a high luster. Red fiber spacers assist the ivory to more readily adjust to temperature and humidity changes, while blue anodized titanium liners provide contrast and keep the knife light and fast. Gianferrari mosaic damascus bolsters echo the patterns seen in the blade but on a grander scale. The bolsters are etched for a secure thumb rest and hot blued to match the blade. The texture of the bolster complements the mammoth ivory well. Excellent fit and finish throughout!
